Go Green or Go Home!


Well not literally but in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day and the ongoing festivities happening this weekend!

Green is going to be our color of choice!

Now in the spirit of all things magical, I am going to switch it up a bit. Instead of focusing on green foods lets focus on green SUPER foods/supplements. These magical entities can do your body a world of good and help flush out some of your festive feasting this weekend.

One thing greens have in common is that they can help balance the pH levels in your body. A lot of the foods we eat is very acidic and greens, being alkaline help maintain homeostasis.

The benefits do not stop there.

They help to protect our bodies against a vast number of ailments. Cardiovascular disease, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure… I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

A great way to add green supplements to your diet is by way of a smoothie/smoothie bowl. Some of them have a distinct taste and by mixing it with something yummy you can help mask it. Some flavors cannot be hidden, like wheatgrass but taking a shot of something sweet after can help get rid of the aftertaste (it isn’t delightful at all).

I have listed below some of my favorite greens supplements that I use regularly. Please research them and make sure your decision to use them is your own.
